About Me

It is really hard to tell about myself, especially in writing. There are moments in every persons life  where you find your own definition. And I found my own few years back.

I was a recent undergrad from a Turkish University and decided to follow my dreams, that was to study Masters degree in US. I can easily say, my life journey started when I moved there at the age of 23. Even though I went there with an intention only studying masters, I lived in US more than 12 yrs...First two years was such a big challenge for me, I juggled between being a full-time employee and a part time MBA student. After the graduation I felt like weight has been lifted from my shoulders, at the end it was my reason to be in US and felt so free. Well, my plans did not work out the way I planned because right after I moved to US I met with my future husband. Few years later, I was happily married, travelling all around and working hectically until we had our daughter.

Like everybody says, life takes another turn when you have a baby, which it did. To be able to take care of my baby I stopped working and became a full-time mom. What a drastic change it was! good one though:) By the time, I was back at work we decided to take a chance in our home country and moved to Istanbul in year 2008. There I felt little bit of awkward, sometimes like an outsider, being away for 12yrs from home (for my husband it was 18yrs), it was not an easy task. By the time, we settled in Istanbul (moved around 3 times in 3 years in Istanbul!) my husband got a job offer and I found myself living this time in Nairobi! Have I mentioned I became a mom second time in Istanbul:)

There I am with a baby and 5 yr old, in Africa. Who would have thought that? Obviously, not me! Settling in Kenya was one of the hardest thing for me. I had a hard time adjusting the culture, living conditions, being so lonely sometimes, but at the end found a safe and happy place in writing:)

Let me also mention, I am a huge fan of Dostoyevsky, Pushkin and Tolstoy! How can one person read the same books over and over, is it only me?? I also love reading Elif Shafak (Genius Turkish writer) and many more. I am a very much beginner level writer too, started writing my own book:). I am also Certified Life Coach. I love travelling, trying new cuisines and writing my experiences on tripadvisor.  I enjoy glass of fine wine when I cook. And how can I not mention, I am one of those people who cannot live without a workout! Love body pump, combat, zumba and running outside.
